25 & 26 September 2027

Strathfield Town Hall

Enter at your own risk. This concert is a night of shadows, spells, and things that creep in the dark — from the wildest ballet ever written to the most famous skeleton dance in music. Stravinsky’s Rite of Spring (in the brilliantly orchestrated Rudolf reduction) still sounds dangerous over a century after it shocked Paris. Saint-Saëns sends Death itself to lead the waltz, Dvořák summons a witch at noon, and we top the evening with Mussorgsky’s terrifying Baba Yaga as an encore. Bring a friend. Hold their hand.

Program:

• Stravinsky — The Rite of Spring
• Saint-Saëns — Danse Macabre
• Dvořák — Printempts (The Noon Witch)
• Gounod — Funeral March of a Marionette
• Mussorgsky (Arr. Ravel) — Baba Yaga from Pictures at an Exhibition (Encore)

Concession (student, child, senior) – $30
