27 & 28 November 2027

Strathfield Town Hall

Every nation has its stories — the ones told by firesides, passed down through generations, and set to music that feels like home. Folklores traces a journey through the myths and melodies of Eastern Europe, from the blazing Russian overtures of Glinka to the swaggering tall tales of Kodály’s Háry János. In between, Borodin conjures the endless Asian steppe and the exotic dances of warrior princes, while Smetana’s Šárka brings a Czech legend of vengeance and betrayal to blazing orchestral life. Colourful, tuneful, and utterly transporting.
