A grand celebration of our Artistic Director and Conductor – Sadaharu Muramatsu – who has been with Strathfield Symphony for 10 years. Sada has chosen an exciting Japanese inspired program that highlights his wonderful influence on the orchestra over his tenure. In that time, we have explored new works and collaborations and put on concerts that we never dreamed were possible!

Sada’s irrepressible sense of humour kicks off the concert with the overture from the Mikado, followed by Holst’s rarely performed Japan Suite. We are joined by the talented Satsuki Odamura, koto soloist for Conyngham’s After Images. The concert finale is the Spirited Away suite, music from the Academy Award winning cult classic anime film.
