2015-04 Happy Birthday

Strathfield Symphony’s final performance for the year is one that features a little Pomp and Planets, celebrating 120 years of the BBC proms.

To quote Shakespeare, the evening will begin with a little ‘pride, pomp and circumstance of glorious war’ through Elgar’s military marches, followed by Britten’s Young Person’s guide to the Orchestra. The evening will end with Holst’s most well known work, The Planets, leading audiences to discover influences of the planets on one’s psyche.
