Nara began the violin at 7 years old, and this special performance will mark the end of 10 years of playing. She studies under the tutelage of Dr Evgeny Sorkin through the Rising Starts program at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and few years ago earnt her Licentiate Diploma (AMEB). Nara was admitted to the Sydney Conservatorium High School, a prestigious specialist music school that has since nurtured her musicianship holistically. During this time she had the opportunity to study conducting with Paul Terracini, Harpsichord with Neals Peres Da Costa, composition with Trevor Pearce and Chamber music with various people including Kathy Selby and Young Kwon Choi. She also briefly studied Piano with Zsusza Giczy where after four years of playing she attained her CmusA (2020).
She has auditioned successfully into programs such as the ACO academy, AYO and Musica Viva’s Strike a Chord. This year, she was selected as a soloist at the Sydney Opera House and chamber musician at the Sydney Town Hall for the Instrumental Festival of Music 2023. After completing HSC Music 2 accelerated last year, she was nominated for the NSW HSC Encore Showcase. This year she completed her HSC Music Ext, where she ranked first in her cohort. Nara is also seen frequently at the Eisteddfods of Sydney, St George and Ryde where she has won countless awards. As a respected House Captain, she co-led her house to victory at the famous House Concerts. She hopes to use these leadership skills to become a musical artistic director in the future.
